Commitment to Diversity
Stepping into an editor's position has helped me realize how important it is to share all the voices of the Arapahoe student body. Being a part of a predominantly white school, it is important to share the voices of students of color, LGBTQ+ students and those who are differently abled. I have really tried to make sure that each group feels included and represented in the school media.
See What?!
The Herald has a long tradition of a "Say What" column, which is featured on the back of every issue and includes anonymous, out-of-context quotes. While this section is fun and students look forward to reading it, I found it lacked sharing the voice of Arapahoe students and the diversity within the community. As editor-in-chief, I decided I didn't want to completely get rid of the "Say What" segment, but rather add something new called"See What." With "See What," we are now able to include photos on the back of The Herald showing the faces and telling stories of the people in the pictures ,which is a great way to demonstrate different voices and diversity in the community.

Features
Here are some features I've helped edit, write, take photos of or design that include subjects from a wide range of backgrounds.
