Broadcast Journalism
While I have not been super involved in broadcast journalism, this past year as editor-in-chief of both the newsmagazine and the social media account, I have built a relationship with the Arapahoe Sports Network broadcast account ran by Mac Shaver. Mac has been really involved with sports broadcasting and has run ASN since he was a freshman and it has been very cool to be able to help promote his brand. In addition, I have tried to use videos and encourage other staff to take videos as a way to post on Instagram. Each photo is linked to the post.
Pickleball Tournament Interview
I spoke with the student body president on signing up for a pickleball tournament for Wish Week. I chose to record a video interview for this because it was a fun way to promote the tournament without just posting a picture of the flier.
Post Signing Day Interview
Although I physically wasn't the one reporting in this video, I helped Trey in writing the questions and giving him tips on how to record a video interview as he talked to someone who had just signed to play Division 1 lacrosse.
Snow Day Video
Before the first snow day of the year, I thought it would be a good idea to take a video of AP biology students doing a "snow dance," so I assigned someone to take the video in order to make this post.
Wild Warrior Women Video
With the help from an experienced broadcast journalist, Christian Gottschalk, I wanted to post a video of the senior girls running through the halls in their overalls during homecoming.
Powderpuff Interview
I wanted to do a pre-game interview with these two powderpuff players in order to promote the event.
Football Interviews with ASN
Here is an example of how I worked with Arapahoe Sports Network to share the voices of both a player and the football coach after the Heritage rivalry game.
Volleyball Dance Video
When the sophomores on the volleyball team performed a dance, I thought it would be a great video to share a video from it.
